Impact

We demonstrate our passion for contributing to our community primarily by raising funds to fulfill specific pledges for Cape Cod Hospital. We also contribute to a scholarship fund for Cape Cod Community College students studying in the healthcare field; make puppets for children at the hospital and urgent care centers and contribute to the Snacks for Kids program at our local Elementary schools.

Pledges

Since 1942, Auxilians have raised more than $9.6 million dollars for Cape Cod Hospital. Some of the past pledges fulfilled by the three branches include:

  • $500,000 for Behavioral Health Expansion
  • $500,000 to the Cuda Women’s Health Center
  • $500,000 to the Davenport-Mugar Cancer Center
  • $650,000 naming the Diagnostic Suite at the newly expanded and renovated Cape Cod Hospital Emergency Center
  • $1,000,000 to the Breast Care Center
  • $1,075,000 for Dual Linear Accelerator
  • $1,500,000 to the Cardiac Care Center

We are currently fundraising towards a five-year $1M pledge for Cancer Services at Cape Cod Hospital.

The expanded Davenport-Mugar Cancer Center will create more access, enhance protocols and pathways, and help ensure the recruitment of the best physicians and staff. The new Center will feature a dedicated entrance and spacious waiting area and lobby on the first floor. A state-of-the-art linear accelerator will also be added with more advanced features and greater efficiencies for treating tumors with radiation. The second floor will offer medical oncology and infusion services with 36 private, spacious infusion bays (twice the current amount) and 24 medical oncology exam rooms. We look forward to working together to fulfill this pledge that will help redefine cancer care on the Cape for decades to come.

Dollars for Scholars

The Auxiliary branches collect money each month for Dollars for Scholars. The money goes to the Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation to be awarded in scholarships to students pursuing further education in the healthcare field.

Puppets

Over the years, a dedicated and talented group of Auxilians have designed and handmade thousands of puppets for children being treated throughout the Cape Cod Healthcare system and to be sold at our fundraising events. Here’s a look at some of the fun puppets they’ve made. *Specific puppets may change or be discontinued due to fabric availability or design modifications.
