CCHA Orleans | Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival Garden Tours
Three beautiful and inspiring gardens and hundreds of visitors. The hydrangeas put on a great show this year and were only one of the many inspiring things about this year’s Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival.
Thank you to our three gracious homeowners who opened their beautiful and inspiring gardens, we appreciate you.
Thank you to our supporters, we are grateful to have such generous local businesses.
Thank you to the Auxiliary members who volunteered their time — from all the work in advance of the festival to working at the gardens — your support and enthusiasm is appreciated.
Thank you to all who toured one of the gardens and helped us towards our $1M pledge for Cancer Services at Cape Cod Hospital. We hope you enjoyed the gardens and got some inspiration for your own outdoor space.
Enjoy this look back at the gardens.

#1 Terra Firma Ecological Solutions | 155 Monument Road, Orleans
Climate-wise ecological design in action leads to robust native meadowscapes, terraces, and rain gardens. All roof, road and hillside runoff is captured and purified in deep organic “hugel terraces” and rock gardens brimming with native, pollinator-friendly, multistory perennials, trees, shrubs, lawns and groundcovers that thrive 24/7/365 without irrigation or fertilizer.
#2 Around Every Corner | 24 Beach Road, Orleans
Inspired by Swedish and English cottage gardens where plants and shrubs are planted close to each other. giving it a relaxed, overgrown, romantic cottage look. The owners of this garden have spent 30 years designing, building, and maintaining the garden.
#3 Heaven is a little closer in a cottage by the sea | 13 Linda’s Lane, Orleans
A short walk takes you to the end of the road where plantings along the property’s fence invite you to stop and take a look. Mature Holly bushes, Rose of Sharon, Rhododendron, plus an unusual oak tree are what the owners started with when they bought a small cottage. Around the property you see areas of Hydrangeas, Lilies, Hostas, Roses and Peonies — a wonderful array of Cape Cod plants.
Fabulous!
Especially the fertilizer and irrigation free location- great ideas.
